VAMPS COME TO THE HOUSE OF BLUES WEST HOLLYWOOD, CA 12-4-13 (EXCLUSIVE COVERAGE)
On a chill evening in Hollywood, California, a crowd gathered in front of the House of Blues with high anticipation for the night’s entertainment from a band filled with legendary rock stars from Japan, VAMPS. This was an exclusive event as the band only had two shows in the US; Los Angeles being the first followed by New York. This evening was very promising that one would see as the excited crowd was dressed up in fun outfits including some people in cross play costumes. As the doors opened, a huge group of screaming girls rushed the stage.First up to hit the stage was California’s own Living Dead Lights. There were a lot of fans of the band in the audience which contributed to the very energetic performance from the band. Plus the singer Taka Tamada who has Japanese heritage was extremely excited to open up for VAMPS.
After a brief intermission, DJ SID hit the stage wearing a Transformers mask getting the crowd to dance a bit. Sid Wilson is widely known as the DJ for the band Slipknot. Outside of performing with the band, Wilson has made a big name for himself in Japan. Wilson has made a following in Japan as DJ of Jungle music, under the name DJ Starscream. Although it is not common to see a DJ in between two rock bands that plays house and hip hop, DJ SID had a lot of fans in the audience and spun an awesome 20 minute set that really warmed up the crowd. The highlight of his set was when he dropped the bass for about a minute that made the ground vibrate very hard and even a few drinks fall off the tables.
It was finally time for VAMPS, as the crowd grew restless you can hear girls screaming and shouting “Hyde!” The band was formed by Hyde (L’Arc-en-Ciel) and K.A.Z (Oblivion Dust) in 2008. The two musicians are heavily involved in the Japanese rock music scene and are big icons in their country. Last time the band played the venue, it was completely sold out, and tonight it was no different as the venue was packed tighter than a sardine can. The band finally hit the stage emerging one by one. The last member to appear on stage was the singer Hyde who was under a blue spotlight and he had some wicked glowing blue contacts in his eyes. The crowd erupted with some girls passing out. Opening up with “Vampire Depression “, the band performed an amazing and memorable set singing mainly English versions of their songs like “The Past”, “Memories”, and “Angel Trip”. They also played an amazing cover of David Bowie’s “Life on Mars”. The audience was wild singing along with every song raising glow sticks in the air which truly lit up the atmosphere at the House of Blues. Hyde did an excellent job getting the crowd to sing along with the songs as multiple times he walked around on stage waving and pointing at the audience. To close out the night VAMPS came back out for an encore of “Revolution II” and “Sweet Dreams”.
This was an amazing show and a high energy performance that the audience truly enjoyed. VAMPS really know how to put on a great performance and draw big crowds. This was a beyond doubt memorable night. Thank you VAMPS for bringing that unique sound of Japanese Rock to the US!

Hyde Room Diary 〜America I am writing this by bus of the return. Because the live in the U.S. was only two times, so I am glad to be able to return immediately. But when it was over, I thought that I should have done it more. Because the fan was excited, I was able to play in the mood as usual. It was really good live. I ate hot food every day. It seems that everyone likes hot food. We had no sightseeing. There was nothing that I want to do particularly. There was no job at night, So I drank every night. But drinking places close early. It's funny. Because I would fall asleep if I back to the room, and jet lag was not cured, So I wanted to be more in the bar. I can say It's like the sightseeing only when I went to buy a birthday gift for Arly in LA. Oh, but I went to some back alleys by shooting in NY. Ｔ＿Ｔ Back alleys... Oh, it was like the sightseeing when we were dropped by to see Rockefeller Center on the way to the meal.(laugh) Christmas tree was so beautiful. Though it was rain. Oh, I watched night view of Manhattan. There is the force that seems to get sucked into. Though it was freezing cold. Manhattan where weather was bad, and was like Blade Runner, and looks a little bit more good looking. I wonder when we come here next？ Anyway, can you believe that SID of slipknot plays by an opening act for us? from HYDE

Как мы убедились сами и убедили даже японцев наш фандом живет активно как в интернет-сообществе так и в реале!
А по сему хотим подвести итог фанатского года )

Например, разговор о еде может иметь совершенно разный смысл, как прямой:
JC•NYC: UNESCO just added Japanese cuisine to its Intangible Cultural Heritage list. What kind of Japanese food do you recommend to American fans? And you’re not allowed to say sushi!
Hyde: Now ramen is popular here, but I choose takoyaki. It’s been a popular food in Kansai [where Hyde is from], but it’s getting more popular in Eastern Japan. In Tokyo people are getting together to have takoyaki parties. They sometimes change the ingredients; instead of octopus, they put something else.
K.A.Z: Kurumi dare no soba. It’s soba with a walnut dipping sauce. It’s not too sweet, and it’s delicious.

Hyde: If you go to a French restaurant, you dress a certain way. If you go to an izakaya, you dress differently. It’s something that happens very naturally. When I produce music, I produce songs for VAMPS so it sounds much cooler. When I produce songs for L’Arc~en~Ciel, it’s a different style. You don’t order French food at an izakaya. I don’t want L’Arc~en~Ciel songs performed by VAMPS.
